Anderson Silva lost at UFC 162 ? but what else happened?

Anderson Silva lost. It's so unbelievable to say that. The man has been atop the UFC's middleweight division for so long that it's hard to fathom that he is capable of losing. At UFC 162, he did lose. He was knocked out by Chris Weidman, the new middleweight champion. The win for Weidman was so big and makes such a major change to the UFC landscape that it's easy to forget there were several other important fights on the card.

-- Frankie Edgar stopped his losing skid. The one-time UFC lightweight champion lost to Benson Henderson twice and Jose Aldo once in his last three bouts. He got back on the winning track, but it wasn't easy. He took the decision 30-27, 29-28, 30-27 over a very tough Charles Oliveira.

-- In the past year, Mark Munoz battled an injury, self-doubt and depression. On Saturday night, he battled Tim Boetsch and put together one of his most impressive performances in the UFC. He used wrestling to control Boetsch, and unrelenting body shots to earn the 30-26, 30-27, 29-28 decision.

-- Cub Swanson made a good case to be included in the top of the featherweight division with his win over Dennis Siver. Will he get that title shot? Read more here.

-- Chris Leben was a member of the first "The Ultimate Fighter" cast. On the day his castmates Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin were inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, Leben looked old, slow and beaten down in a decision loss to Andrew Craig.

-- The fights started with four straight stoppage wins. Mike Pierce TKOed David Mitchell, Brian Melancon knocked out Seth Baczynski as the horn ending the first round sounded, Edson Barboza took out Rafaello Oliveira in the second round using leg kicks, and Gabriel Gonzaga knocked out Dave Herman in a scant 17 seconds.
